MEIL Recruitment Drive for Design Engineer

Designation: Civil & Structural Design Engineer

• Qualification: ME / M.Tech / B.E / B.Tech – Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience: 5 to 15 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis and design of transmission towers (lettice steel structures) using software such as STAAD, Pro, PLS-TOWER.
• Design of tower foundation based on soil investigation reports.
• Prepare design calculation, GA drawings, and Fabrication draiwngs.
• Check and validate tower members, loadings (wind, conductor, Insulator loads) and definition criteria.
• Review and ensure compliance with relevant standards (IS 802, IS 456, IS 875, ASCE, IRC, etc)
• Optimize tower weight and foundation cost through value engineering.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with Geotechnical, electrical, and quality teams.
• Maintain design documention, calculation reports.
• Support tendering and proposal teams with technical inputs and cost estimation.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of steel structures and foundation engineering.
• Proficiency in design software: STAAD, Pro, AutoCAD, PLS-TOWER / Tower
• Knowledge of Indian and International codes: IS 802, IS 456, IS 875, IS 1893, etc.
• Ability to interpret tower schedules, load diagrams, and route profiles.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and Coordination skills.
